In the studio Video no. 1

For those of you who totally have missed this, the In the Studio video for day 1 is here!

Soon enough, the rest will be uploaded.
I hope you like them because Martin has been sweating over them in frustration!

Breaking the Silence

It has been a little bit too quiet here for too long. We have started ahead on a long path of planning. And it is so much planning to be done. Fun planning, and you will see the result of it this fall.
We are planning gigs, graphics, photoshoots - you name it. And of course... planning and preparing for more music.
Ideas are flowing and we just need to take the time to capture these ideas and make them real.

Not so much fun for you right now, I'm guessing. So I'm uploading more pictures! The theme for tonight is weird pictures. And I promise you, there are many. The really ugly ones, I won't upload. (Because there will be revenge, and I can be truly ugly sometimes)

I don't know what I'm doing.
I think I had one of those epiphanies. This book gave me many during a very short period of time. So my best guess is that I am pondering on something... like... Well... A woman came in sick at the hospital and her belly the doctors found blood, fur, bones and teeth. Because well... she had eaten her cat!
Stuff like that... And yes... it IS about zombies.

Thia is not as weird as it is cute. In my opinion.
But there is just something about big, longhaired metalhead (sometimes with a beard), dressed in black, listens to metal and drinks his tea from my gandmas teacups.
And somehow it all just makes it even MORE metal!  \m/

Last one is this REALLY creepy one of Samuel and Matt out in the rain.
I think they are supposed to be blogging, or I should have been. But I actually think Samuel found something... interesting (?) on either youtube or 4chan.

Enjoy this until further notice.

Samuel: Matt, imagine that you're a dead hamster, with no hair, that talks!

Mixing & Mastring Done!

Hi all!

We were at the studio yesterday and the day before and finished up the mixing of all the songs on our Demo Welcome Madness. So now we got ourself a mastered CD in our hands with the 3 songs for the demo and I must say, it sounds awesome!, Its heavy and melodic and got catchy tunes alongside the most mad growls ever from Matt and raw and beautiful vocals from Jade.

This is something you just got to listen to, expect it to be released somewhere in September both as a physical disc and on digital release on spotify, itunes, 7digital, cdon etc

And if you have forgotten, Circus of Lamia first release, Welcome Madness will contain the following songs:

  1. Beware of Zombies! - 4:16
  2. The Asylum - 5:19
  3. Dreamland - 6:49
Follow all the forth coming actions right here on www.circusoflamia.com as we get our design for the cover, our own logo, our photoshoot for promo pictures and we also got confirmed that Showroom pictures will create our In the Studio video from our time in the studio. Besides that tons of more stuff to happen!

Until next time!
Alex

This 'n' That from the Studio

Things to share...

When it rained the most during the three days, we sat outside in some kind of tent, blogging, laughing an eating healthy things we aquired at the famous Ica that had two floors.

The rain.
Yeah, but it was still kind of warm outside. Kind of cozy. And I know that at least me and Matt love the rain.
We should totally write lyrics on the subject.

It has been a tiring experience, as you can see further down. Three out of five members fell asleep at some point.
Martin fell asleep (a sleepy picture of a sleepy bassplayer will be uploaded when it will be uploaded)

I fell asleep. Probably dreaming of zombies.
I needed an energy drink to come back to reality. And I never drink energy drinks...

Our poor drummer Samuel fell asleep. On the floor, even, as soon as he was done with recording his drums.

Lots more crazy stuff happened, but all of the pictures and videos has not been available yet.
More to come later.
Until then.

Recording - Day 3

Our third day in Helter Skelter has come to an end.
Yesterday we were at it, recording for about 12 hours. Today we recorded vocals and we were actually finished in time! Yay!
Also we caught my exceptional table manners on tape. Martin was a lucky bastard there...
(I also got a picture of her eating an apple (Evil laugh) /Martin)

We would like to thank Rebecka from Beyond Visions for her fantastic back up singing on "Welcome Madness". We are very grateful!

Mer action i bilden men nu får tess tre bilder :P

Tonight you will see all of the very, very serious pictures of me and Matt doing really serious stuff like.... well... laughing, eating and playing with our food.
Yes. You are welcome.
And here they are:

Jade: Did someone just fart? I smell roses...

Recording - Day 2

Today started with me dozing off for about two hours.

When I woke up I was scolded by Matt (which is quite understandable) and Alex was well into recording his guitars.
About half of the guitars on "Beware of Zombies!" and "The Asylum" were done.

After an energy drink and a chocolate chip cookie I was back to my regular self again.
Everything is going at full speed here at the moment and it's Samuel's turn to sleep in a corner now.

~*~
Later

Alex still working with guitars.

Alex is soon done with the guitars and soon Martin begins to record his bass tracks to the 3 songs.
Tomorrow we have more bass, since we are a little off schedule and some recording to done with vocals and screams.
The weather is darling, though. It rains a lot and I'm sitting outside in a tent-thingie, eating cookies and enjoying this atmosphere. Hippie warning.

Martin caressing that bass.

Not much else has been going on. Guitars ate up six hours and we hope to get the bass down at least most of it today. Tomorrow it will be necessary to focus on the vocals. But of course, that is my personal opinion, since I sing...

Samuel: I love the sound of a china. It feels like being licked in the ear.

Recording - Day 1

It has begun.
We are currently at Helter Skelter studio (or rather, outside in the chilly wind) in central Stockholm recording our demo "Welcome Madness". Today we have been setting up drums, got ourselves lost at the super market (It was ginormous! Let's do that again tomorrow! It had two floors and an escalator connecting them! I was overwhelmed!), had a healthy lunch consitning of um... pizza, and at last begun to record the drums.
It sounds like Samuel has gotten "Beware of Zombies!" down by now.

Yes. Everyone in this friggin' band looks like they are about to come when we play this song, I swear.

Samuel has got his angry face on! The concentration is absolute!
Notice how the wall behind him matches the background on the blog. Hah, now that was well thought through.
Oh the cleverness of us!

Also worth noting is that we have Rasmus and Jonna with us who are helping us record this experience and all of the stupid things going on with Circus of Lamia so that we can share it with You.
We would like to thank Showroom Pictures for lending us the equipment to tape all of this insanity. Thank you!
