Hi

We just got another review for our EP, Welcome Madness. Written by Anders Ekdahl

" Circus Of Lamia. With a name like that you kinda expect the most crazy metal you’ve ever heard in your life... but I think I can hear something brewing in the background. It the embryo of something bigger to come "

The name is Evve and from early on I wanted to be a drummer. My parents thought it was too loud so at the age of 14 I became the lead singer of a band instead.
It wasn’t enough to satisfy my hunger for music so I sidelined as a singer/songwriter with a bit softer sound and started to play bass in my former doom-metal band ‘The Sorceress’. Later on our guitarist and I ended up taking over the singing and growling too. The Sorceress broke up during 2007 and the year after, when I graduated from school my passion for music began too demise as the amount of work and energy outweigh the results.

Years passed, when I suddenly felt the urge to wright and play again. I put out an ad and Alex found me. I’m Circus of Lamias new bass player. I’m reloaded and ready. I close my eyes and inhale; I feel it spread, like adrenaline through my body. I welcome the madness and embrace it.

Until next time..

Christmas Announcements

Gorey Christmas to you all!

Even though i's christmas eve and all; the band has some news. Both good and bad ones.
We are sorry to announce that our bass player Martin has left the band because of different musical views and ideologies. We respect his decision and wish him happiness in both his personal, academic and musical life.

However can't stop the madness, no matter how we feel about this.
I promised you good news, and they are that we have found ourselves a new bass player!
Her name is Evelina, and we would like to warmly welcome her to the circus, to the madness.
Especially me, since I no longer get to wear a sign on my forehead that says "Token Girl".
Soon she will post her presentation here, and you will know more about her!

She and her magic fingers are our best christmas gifts.

Hello Everyone!

As handsome as I am here is our first handsome review of Circus of Lamia.

"This latest offering is from Swedish Band Circus of Lamia. Recorded at the Helter Skelter Studio, Stockholm in the Summer, this EP offers up three kick ass metal songs with killer riffs and catchy tunes, featuring Jade on clean vocals and Matt offering up a gruff alternative"

Much Love
Alex

Greeting from the keyboardist

Hi all!

New keyboardist Fredrik here. Since I've been in this band for two months, I think it's time for me to introduce myself.

Just like many others, I started playing the piano when I was about 8. As I wasn’t playing any of the things I liked to play, I started to lose interest after a couple of years. Then, at the age of 14, I discovered gothic and symphonic metal and decided to transform from a pianist into a metal keyboardist. Some years and several bands later, I can now say my transformation is complete.

My role in COL is mainly to add some new elements to our sound, sometimes symphonic, sometimes oriental and sometimes just craziness. I’m also hoping to turn this blog into a website pretty soon.

That’s all from me at the moment. So stay metal and beware of the zombies.

Fredrik

Sunday - Review Hunting

We gathered our forces on the December 4th to try to spread more madness.

Instead of rehearsal, we focused on getting a review of somesort, in magazines, webzines and radios, etc.

So we met up, armored with computers and spread out in Alex's cozy apartment, our second home, searching for a way to spead out our insanity further, throughout, well.. Anything further than our hometown.

Researching mail adresses, snail mail, web forms and much more. We actually sat down to search this the entire sunday, for over 9 hours!
Let's hope the stiffness in our asses and backs are payed off...

Stay tuned for more gorey details.

Finishing Stuff

My struggle to get the other guys to post here once in a while seems to be futile.
I guess I'll take my responsibility and keep you posted.

This weekend we have gathered to finish up some songs, work on other songs, record demos and just get stuff done.

So far we have written lyrics for our tenth song, re-recorded guitars, recorded keyboard for a few songs and a lot of drums have been programmed.
As we speak we are working hard, recording vocals.

Personally, I'm kinda impressed, since we rarely get stuff done, we just tend to sit and chat. That is nice too, but we all rather have stuff finished. And this time, a lot of time has been wasted on sleeping, travelling to have lunch and then get back, watching YouTube, playing games and both Matt and me have been ill.
I'm actually considering napping on a couch for a while when I'm done with this.

I'll also give you a cute quote. Our latest song is very cold, fresh and wintry, which I wanted to convey to the other guys.
"I want this song to be like a Vicks Blue... That has been on the ground for some time..."
